You cannot stay idle once you are in the inspiring city like Amsterdam as tons of activities will arouse you to go there and there, in every corner of the city. All day all nights, Amsterdam seems to never run out of things to see and to do.

City and Nature walks
Of course, just walking around the city to chase its countless attractions from one to another is an activity which will easily run your day out. The historical city center is the best place to appreciate the city’s fascinating historical monuments and buildings. The quarter of Jordann gives you a glimpse of lifestyle of local people; its narrow streets, lovely houses, canals and shops also offer the pleasant atmosphere to the quarter.
But if you are tired of the bustling city, try a nature walk on Amsterdam’s outskirt where Amsterdam Bos (Amsterdam Wood) is situated. Approximately 10 square kilometers of this lovely wood offers relaxing and refreshing atmosphere amidst the lavishly verdant space.

Canal bike
Owing to a myriad of canals in Amsterdam, the pedal boats are a wonderful way to explore the city. Without the buzzing traffic, you can delve smoothly along the canals; choosing your own route is part of the fun. The boats are kept at four locations.

In-line skating and ice skating
In-line skating is one of the most popular activities among the Amsterdamers. The Vondel Park is a great spot for enjoy such activity. When summer arrive or when the weather permits, the park is filled with in-line skaters. In-line skating tours in and around Amsterdam are also available. In winter, the frozen canals in the city and the Museumplein pond become a playground for ice- skaters.

Cycling
Cycling is the main and favorite way of traveling among local people. Visitors can also act like them to explore the city and enjoy an exceptional experience. Bike rentals can be found around the city. The Voudel Park and along the Amstel River offers the good cycling trials.

Cultural activities
Performing arts are abounding in Amsterdam; 15,000 performances are staged in the city every year. Amsterdam also designated the season especially for the cultural events, starting from September to the end of June during which theaters, concerts, and dance performances can be seen throughout the city. The central venue of music shows is at the Consertgebouw which is not only a home to the world famous Royal Consertgebouw Orchestra but also hosts the visiting companies and international soloist. Free concerts are regularly held here. For theatre, visitors can admire the Dutch theater in English at some international fringe companies, among which the Stadsschouwburg (Municipal Theatre) is the main center. Musicals and cabaret are staged at Koninklijk Theatre Carré (Royal Carré Theatre). When it comes to dance performance, the Dutch National Ballet is regarded one of the best and most versatile companies in Western Europe. The national ballet finds a home at Muziektheatre (Opera House) where the classical ballets and the 20th century works are performed.

A four-storey hotel with interior design by anouska hempel, the dylan amsterdam is housed in a 17th century townhouse located on the keizersgracht canal, three blocks from both dam square and the anne frank house museum.
