Amsterdam is a paradise for festival fans as there is a parade of colorful festivals all year round where visitors can enjoy the local culture and good times.

-Queen’s Day: Every 30 April, a huge street in the city is filled with carnival parades and party.

-National Windmill Day: On 11 May, Amsterdam’s six working windmills open to public.

-Holland Festival: The whole month of June is celebrated with spectacular performing arts from the world renowned artists at various venues throughout the city. Visitors can enjoy opera, drams, music, dance, and film performances.

-Kwakoe Summer Festival: This is a major multicultural festival aiming to be a meeting place for people of various ages, cultures, and ways of life. During six weekends, visitors will enjoy theater performances, concerts, films, sport competition and exotic dishes. The festive period starts around the end of June.

-Amsterdam Roots Festival: This is the colorful expression of world music and culture in Amsterdam, usually held in the late June. The festival will be celebrated with various performances, parades, workshops, and market.

-The Parade: The 17-days-festival is composed of some fifty productions of theater, dance, film, amusement and many other entertainment activities. The festive period is annually held in August.

-The Out Market: This festival marks the opening of a new cultural season. Celebrations include performances on indoor and outdoor stages. A large information market and book market is also found in the festival which takes place in the end of August.

-Canal Festival: Five days of the festival consist of more than 80 classical concerts in the area around Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht and Herengracht. Various sites, including hidden courtyards, monumental buildings, and private canal-side homes that have never been opened to public will be served as the main venues where many concerts are held.
